Smart FOAM Insulation is a unique insulation material. It is a light weight cellular plastic material that is foamed-in-place enabling it to fill any cavity, regardless of size or shape. The foam flows into odd shaped spaces, around wires, pipes, and other obstructions. It is a highly effective thermal and acoustical barrier due to its cellular composition, high "R" value, ease of application and versatility.

Composition and Materials
Smart Foam Insulation is composed of an oligomeric methylene carbanate in combination with the tensid catalyst. These two aqueous solutions are frothed using compressed air as the blowing agent to produce the finished cellular insulation material. It is a cold setting process that forms a low density resilient cellular structure comprised of a microscopic sized cell agglomeration interspersed with microscopic capillaries which are irregular and discontinuous. Setting takes place 10-60 seconds after the foam leaves the application gun so voids can be completely filled without danger of subsequent pressure build-up.

Basic Uses
Smart Foam Insulation is widely used for new and retrofit masonry block applications such as core filling, cavity between brick veneer and block, etc. Because of its unique foamed-in-place characteristics it can be installed during construction before the cavity is capped, or injected into the closed cavity through small access holes. It is also ideal for insulation pre-cast hollow core concrete panels, pipe chases, around windows, doors and other nominally inaccessible areas.
